01 — SECOND SKIN

Keep the Second Skin on for 5–6 days, up to a maximum of 7 days, as long as it remains properly sealed over the tattoo.

Some fluid, plasma or ink collecting underneath the film can be normal during the first days.

If the Second Skin starts leaking, comes open, or peels back enough to expose any part of the tattoo, remove it. Do not try to reseal or reapply the same piece.

Once the Second Skin is removed, continue with the Traditional Healing instructions below.

02 — REMOVING SECOND SKIN

Wash your hands thoroughly before removing the film.

Remove the Second Skin slowly under warm running water. Gently peel it back along the skin rather than pulling it straight away from the tattoo.

Wash the tattoo gently with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.

Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not rub.

Allow the tattoo to dry before applying aftercare cream.

03 — TRADITIONAL HEALING

If you are not using Second Skin, or if you had to remove it early, follow this routine:

Wash the tattoo gently 2–3 times a day with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.

Pat it dry with a clean paper towel and allow it to breathe for a few minutes.

Apply a very thin layer of the recommended aftercare cream 2–3 times a day.

Use only enough cream to lightly moisturize the tattoo. Do not leave a thick or greasy layer over it.

Continue this routine while the tattoo is healing and peeling.

04 — DURING HEALING

Some peeling, dryness and mild itching can be normal during healing.

Do not scratch, pick or peel the tattoo. Let the skin shed naturally.

Wear clean, loose clothing whenever possible and avoid unnecessary friction over the tattoo.

05 — AVOID

Until the tattoo is fully healed:

Do not swim in pools, the ocean or hot tubs.

Avoid baths, saunas and soaking the tattoo in water. Showers are fine.

Avoid direct sunlight and tanning.

Avoid tight or dirty clothing rubbing against the tattoo.

Do not shave directly over the healing tattoo.

06 — SUN & LONG-TERM CARE

While your tattoo is healing, keep it out of direct sunlight and do not apply sunscreen directly to the healing tattoo. Use clothing and shade for protection.

Once the tattoo is completely healed, use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher when it will be exposed to the sun.

If your skin is sensitive, consider a mineral sunscreen containing zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide.

Keeping your skin moisturized and protecting it from the sun will help preserve the tattoo over time.

IMPORTANT

If you notice increasing redness, swelling, heat, significant pain, unusual discharge, fever, or anything else that concerns you, seek appropriate medical advice.
